I completed my bachelor's degree majoring in psychology with minors in biology and anthropology at Washington University in St. Louis, MO.  I completed my master's degree in Human Nutrition at the School of Public Health, University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI.  I will always be grateful to Dr Richard Allen and Mrs. Anna Marie Schaefer, MPH, RD, for offering and training me in my first 'real' job as a Metabolic Dietitian at the Pediatric Neurology clinic at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI.  I then worked for 4 years in the Medical Genetics clinic at Washington University School of Medicine at St. Louis Children's Hospital in St. Louis, MO.  I currently work for Dr Mark Korson in the Metabolism clinic at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston, MA.  I think I am now an official 'New Englander' as I have successfully negotiated Boston traffic without incident (so far!) for the last 3.5 years. It is wonderful to see that every new year seems to bring more options and improvements to treatments for people living with metabolic disorders.  It has always been a source of inspiration and motivation for me to have the privilege of working with families and patients living with metabolic disorders; people who on a daily basis face and overcome many challenges.
